Moncks Corner, South Carolina

Moncks Corner is a small town in South Carolina with a population falling just below 14,000 people in 2021 but it wears its small-town charm with pride. Home to Mepkin Abbey, the Trappist Monk Monastery - you'd think the town was named for them - but it's actually named for Thomas Monck who was the landowner all the way back in 1728. The town bustles with activities year-round and its historic Main Street is home to great shopping and dining while parks, lakes, and rivers provide plenty for the outdoor enthusiast. Only about 30 or so miles from Downtown Charleston, Moncks Corner is located along the Cooper River and minutes from Lake Moultrie.
